HowTo: Getting Started with PingDroid

PingDroid is a Ping.FM client for AndroidPing.FM is a free social networking service that allows you to update multiple social networks like Facebook, Flickr, MySpace, Bebo and many many others.

First you need to obtain PingDroid from the Android Marketplace or directly from the website. *If you download it directly from the web site you need to copy the file to an SD card and install from there.*

Once PingDroid is installed launch it and configure your Ping.fm Mobile Key.  From the settings screen select Ping.fm Website which will launch your web browser.  You’ll need to provide your username/password and once you are authenticated your Mobile Key will be displayed.  Remember it and go back to PingDroid. *Tip: Press the Home key for a few seconds to display all of the running applications.*

Select the Ping.fm Mobile Key menu item and enter your key and press ok.  You will then be sent to the PingDroid app where you can post your status to your connected social networks.
