Essential list are just like fingers; every body’s got at least 10.
I’ve been using Wordpress since March 2006 and in that time I have found a loads of plugins that enhance the whole Wordpress experience.
The way I see it is that there are 3 types of plugins:
Plugins that enhance the Readers Experience.
Plugins that enhance the Writers Experience.
Plugins that are useless.
Well in the past month I have disocvered a 4th catageory: Plugins that promote and disrtibute your content.

Wow this a record for dismissing a technology. 30 seconds after registration on ThinkFree I uploaded a .txt file and then clicked on it to view/edit and I get this:

With in the first 5 minutes of using Writely I noticed the URL to a doc I was editing: http://www.writely.com/Doc.aspx?id=…. Do you see what I see? Writley is using the .aspx file extension which means it is built on ASP.NET, Microsofts’ pride and joy.
I don’t know how to react to this? On one hand I am appalled that Google would use a Microsoft Product but on the other hand what a thumb-to-the-nose at Microsoft.
“Hey Bill, Check us out. We can build (or buy) better stuff with .NET than you could ever dream of!”, shouts Google.
Zoho Writer is just the thing I have been looking for to store documents that I can access either at work or home without having to do the flash drive or ftp thing. With Zoho I can creat docs im my private folder access them from where ever. The other bonus is I don’t have to deal with using MS Word at work and OO Writer at home (I use Linux on my home PC).
I know I could just use my blog for personal docs but there is an issue with Private Post in Wordpress andRSS Feeds. The issue is private posts keep showing up in my FeedBurner RSS Feed!! Not very private huh?
The other thing I could do is to just use FTP nd store my docs in a protected folder on the server but that brings up the MS vs OpenOffice issues I’ve had in the past. Not to mentition the version issues that can arise.

It’s all about syndication. Today I have gathered some Wordpress Plugins the aid in consuming and producing RSS Feeds that I have found useful.
- InlineFeed
This lets you display RSS feeds in your Wordpress posts and pages. It’s very easy to use and you can see it in action here. - CompleteRSS
This removes the ‘content:encoded’ tags from your XML feed which can help if your using an off-line blog manager like Drivel.

This lest you access FeedBurner statistics - Feedburner Wordpress Widget
This allows you put Feedburner subscription links into your WordPress sidebar and arrange it with the rest of your widgets. - Google Analytics and Feedburner Reports
This is a very handy tool but you need a Google Analytics account for the Google reports.

Add (t) to the end of each category in the post: Tagging(t) - My Technorati Tag Cloud
Add your Tags from Technorati as a Tag Cloud to your sidebar. - Cosmos link plugin for WordPress
Adds 2 Technorati links to your post: one to see who else is linking to the post and one to add the post to your watch list. - Bunny’s Technorati Tags
Adds a textbox to the post edit form that you can add Technorati tags to. - MightyTechno
This will convert tags from your configuration page into links to search your site. *I hacked mine to do a Technorati Tag search instead of a local search.
